Thunderbirds Are GO!

Another cult TV show advert crossover today as we take a look at this Exchange & Mart commercial from 1988 that for some reason has a Thunderbirds theme. Not sure why this crossover happened, was this around the time that Thunderbirds had become popular again? I’m not sure but it’s a fun watch anyway and it’s always good to have Gerry Anderson‘s creations on screen whatever the reason, enjoy!

One more trip into Dark They Were And Golden Eyed.

I wasn’t expecting to delve back into London comic book shops this quickly but this rare find just recently turned up on ebay in Canada of all places. It’s a very early promo flyer for when Dark They Were And Golden Eyed was in it’s first location at 28 Bedforbury, Covent Garden, London, WC2. It must be from the early 1970s as it’s the original location, plus the artwork itself is signed and dated: David Edward Britton 20/11/69.

They text is so good “At last a SCIENCE FICTION bookshop! P.S. We also sell fantasy and horror”

This is currently up for auction on ebay via a seller in Canada, find the auction here.

Brian Bolland’s Death Ray!

Found this while browsing through ebay recently, it’s wonderful piece of artwork by Brian Bolland which the listing says it’s a poster from the 1970s titled Death Ray. Not sure if it’s from a comic or just a one off design but it’s so striking with it’s retro science fiction look that I felt it should go on here. If you’re tempted to buy it the listing is still up for sale on ebay UK here!

The Avengers of Amplex

Here’s a recent VHS find, a vintage TV advert from 1988 for the Amplex breath freshener range that for some reason is based around the 1960s adventure series The Avengers. Not sure what the link is between the two but it’s a fun, although brief, watch!
